Governor Paterson proposes 'Obesity Tax,' a tax on non-diet sodas

A can of Coke could soon cost New Yorkers more than just calories.
Gov. Paterson, as part of a $121 billion budget to be unveiled Tuesday, will propose an 'obesity tax' of about 15% on nondiet drinks."

Tax caused the downfall of the French Monarch (the Salt Tax), the last straw that broke the camel's back. Our Fed/State governments don't seem to remember their history well at all. Taxing a people on everything that you can get away with only causes problems...and the end of that government in due time.
